Police complaint against producers of Yaariyan 2 for 'hurting religious sentiments'. Here's WHY?

New Delhi: A police case has been filed against the creators of the film Yaariyan 2 for hurting religious sentiments after a complaint from the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC) – the body responsible for managing Sikh places of worship in India.   The film, being directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, faced controversy shortly after releasing the new track, Saure Ghar.   The SGPC accused the creators of the song of using kirpan – a Sikh symbol – in an offensive way in one scene.   In the song, a clean-shaven character can be seen sporting the kirpan. According to Sikh religious beliefs, only initiated members of the community sporting a beard are allowed to carry the kirpan. Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 earns Rs 450 crore at Indian box office, fastest to do so

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has become the fastest film to earn Rs 450 crore at the Indian box office.   Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Anil Sharma, was released in the year 2001.   Sunny Deol, Amish Patel and Amrish Puri played important roles in this film.   Gadar 2, the sequel to 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', reunites Sunny and Ameesha.   'Gadar 2' was released in the theaters on August 11.   Gadar 2' earned 284 crores in the first week. Mumbai:  Veteran Bollywood lyricist Dev Kohli passed away here on Saturday after a prolonged illness.Eighty-six-year-old Kohli was famous for his superhit songs like ‘Kabootar Jaa, Jaa, Jaa’, ‘Ye Kaali Kaali Aankhen’, ‘Dil Deewana, Bin Sajna Ke Maane Na’ and ‘Chalti Hai Kay Nau Se Bara’. Kohli’s body was kept for people and his fans to pay their last respects at his home in Lokhandwala Complex this afternoon.His funeral was performed this evening at the Oshiwara Crematorium. The Congress on Monday raised questions about the Bank of Baroda withdrawing the auction notice for the Juhu bungalow of BJP MP Sunny Deol.   Taking to X (Previously Twitter), Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote, "Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up Rs 56 crore owed to the Bank. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation has got to know that the Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to 'technical reasons'.
