NCB arrests actor Armaan Kohli over cocaine possession

Mumbai: Actor Armaan Kohli was arrested on Sunday by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), after banned drugs were allegedly recovered from his house.   He was earlier but was finally arrested after a detailed investigation, said a NCB Official.   "A small quantity of Cocaine has been seized from his (Armaan Kohli) house," said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB's Mumbai Zonal Unit.   The investigation has revealed that the case has international linkages as the cocaine seized has South American origin, the officer added.   Kohli’s name cropped up when NCB officials were questioning Ajay Raju Singh, a drug peddler arrested on Saturday morning.   Earlier, Singh was caught near the Haji Ali dargah in south Mumbai, where 25 grams of MD was recovered from him.   “He is a history-sheeter and has been previously involved in a 2018 case of ANC Mumbai wherein a huge quantity of Ephedrine was recovered,” official apprised.   Armaan was earlier arrested in 2018 f

Domestic violence case: Delhi court orders Honey Singh to appear before it on September 3

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday ordered singer Honey Singh to appear before it on September 3 in connection with a domestic violence case filed by his wife Shalini. Shalini Talwar has sought Rs 20 crore as compensation from him under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Counsel for Singh moved an exemption application for appearance of Singh before the court, citing medical reasons and apprised the court that Shalini has already taken all the valuables with her including jewellery. Singh's counsel further submitted that his client has two properties costing around Rs 4 crores, of which a property worth Rs 1 crore belongs to Shalini Talwar. Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh, expressing displeasure over Singh's absence, told his counsel, 'You have not filed his income affidavit and are not prepared with the arguments.' Amitabh Bachchan’s police bodyguard transferred after reports of him earning Rs 1.5 crore a year surface

Mumbai: Head constable with the Mumbai police department, who had been posted as megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s bodyguard since 2015, was transferred amid reports of him allegedly earning Rs 1.5 crore annually, an official said on Friday.   The head constable, Jitendra Shinde, has been moved to D B Marg Police Station in South Mumbai as part of a routine transfer, the official said.   He was transferred 15 days ago and it was officially published in a police notice at that time, he said.   Bachchan has been provided ‘X’ category security by the Mumbai police. Shinde became a part of that security cover after he was given the responsibility of being the actor’s bodyguard in 2015, the official added.   As per the guidelines, a police constable cannot continue on the same post beyond five years.   A media report published recently claimed that Shinde earned Rs 1.5 crore annual income while being posted as the superstar’s bodyguard.   Sources in the police department said that S

Kolkata: Penguin Random House India has announced the acquisition of a series of picture books from actor duo, partners and parents Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu.  Tentatively titled Inni and Bobo, the series will consist of three picture books.   These picture books will be published under the Puffin imprint and the first book will release in 2022. Soha debuted as an author in 2017 with The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, a best-selling memoir published as a collection of essays by Penguin. This is the first time she is writing for young readers. This book also marks Kunal’s debut as an author.   The three picture books will take readers through the adventures of a little girl called Inni who loves all animals, but especially cute little puppies. Mumbai: The 'Big Bull" actor Abhishek Bachchan is back to work after a 'freak accident'.   In an Instagram post last night, the 45-year-old actor confirmed that he had a "freak accident" in which he fractured his right hand. "Had a freak accident in Chennai on the set of my new film last Wednesday. Fractured my right hand. Needed surgery to fix it! So a quick trip back home to Mumbai.
