NCB arrests actor Armaan Kohli over cocaine possession

Mumbai: Actor Armaan Kohli was arrested on Sunday by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), after banned drugs were allegedly recovered from his house.
 

He was earlier but was finally arrested after a detailed investigation, said a NCB Official.
 
"A small quantity of Cocaine has been seized from his (Armaan Kohli) house," said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB's Mumbai Zonal Unit.
 
The investigation has revealed that the case has international linkages as the cocaine seized has South American origin, the officer added.
 
Kohli’s name cropped up when NCB officials were questioning Ajay Raju Singh, a drug peddler arrested on Saturday morning.
 
Earlier, Singh was caught near the Haji Ali dargah in south Mumbai, where 25 grams of MD was recovered from him.
 
“He is a history-sheeter and has been previously involved in a 2018 case of ANC Mumbai wherein a huge quantity of Ephedrine was recovered,” official apprised.
 
Armaan was earlier arrested in 2018 for allegedly threatening a fashion designer. He has been taken to a government hospital for a medical check up.
 
He will be produced in the court late afternoon. (UNI)

Accused in firing outside Salman Khan's house case wants to turn approver

Mumbai: A person facing MCOCA charges in connection with the firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence in Bandra suburbs here has expressed his desire to turn approver in the case, sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch said.   Without disclosing the identity of the accused, the sources said that one of those arrested in the April 14 shooting case and facing charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has express his desire to be an approver and necessary procedure prescribed under the law has been set into motion.   As per procedure, the probe agency will first record the accused's confession before a high ranking officer not part of the ongoing investigation, and later the same will be recorded before a magistrate, the sources added.   The confessional statement will be the part of evidence and it will be used against him as well as other accused facing charges, they said.   On Monday, three accused arrested in the case were sent
