"Apologise at Bishnoi temple or pay Rs 5 crore to stay alive": Another death threat to actor Salman Khan

Mumbai: After receiving a multiple death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday, the actor received a fresh death threat by a man identified as the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, asking him to apologise or pay Rs 5 crore to stay alive.

This is the fourth threat message in a month received by the helpline number of the Mumbai traffic police.

The Mumbai police said they received a message early on Tuesday on the helpline number of the Mumbai traffic control room at around 12.30 am, after which Worli police officers were notified.

“The sender, in the message, identified himself as the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He gave the actor two options to stay alive—either apologise at a temple or pay Rs 5 crore—as members of their gang would kill him,” the officer said.

The police said they believe that the message, sent from an unknown number, appears to be a hoax.

“We are in the process of registering a case. A team has already been assigned to locate the suspect,” said the officer.
