A man and a burqa-clad woman allegedly threatened veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Mumbai's Bandra area, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place when Khan was sitting on a bench at the Bandra Bandstand after his morning walk on Wednesday.
The police have detained the accused duo.
"A man and a burqa-clad woman going on a two-wheeler spotted Salim Khan sitting at the Bandstand and came near him and asked him 'Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya?' after taking a U-turn. Before he could act, they took a U-turn and zoomed past him, the police official said.
Salim Khan's bodyguard later lodged a complaint at the Bandra police station on Wednesday. Khan, who noted down part of the scooty’s number plate, shared the details with the police.
"We launched a probe and detained both the accused persons. During their investigation, they told us that they were playing mischief," the official said.
