The special screening was a tribute to the dedication and protection provided by the police forces—values embodied by Commander Karan Saxena himself.
The event, held on Friday at Sunny Super Sound in Juhu, was attended by notable members of the Mumbai Police force, along with the team of Commander Karan Saxena and their family and friends.
The series, directed by Jatin Wagle and produced by Keylight Productions, is based on a character created by acclaimed writer Amit Khan. Starring Gurmeet Choudhary, Iqbal Khan, and Hruta Durgule, the series follows a fearless RAW agent on a dangerous mission to save the nation.
It is set to premiere on July 8, 2024, and will be available for free on Disney+ Hotstar's mobile app, with new episodes releasing from Monday to Friday.
Dr. Dinesh Bari, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Force One, Maharashtra Police, commented on the screening, “Commander Karan Saxena was an entertaining watch. It's so good to see the defence forces of our country being portrayed in a positive light and Gurmeet has portrayed his role with utmost conviction. The kind of physical training he would have gone through to get into this role is a sneak peek into what we officers have to train to get here and I am glad the audience gets an insight into this with this Disney+ Hotstar series.”
Sunil Jain, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mumbai Police, said, “Watching Commander Karan Saxena as a police officer was an insightful experience. The series portrays the courage and grace required in the Forces. Seeing the strength through various challenges was notable. With its thrilling moments and engaging storyline, Commander Karan Saxena on Disney+ Hotstar offers a compelling watch for anyone interested in life in the forces.”
Gurmeet Choudhary, who plays the titular role, shared his thoughts, “I cannot get over the feeling I had when I saw all the esteemed police officials watch Disney+ Hotstar’s Commander Karan Saxena at the screening. I am incredibly grateful for them to spare their precious time to see me on screen. I have tried my level best to embody their courage and grace on screen, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to do this. To see them come out of the screening having liked the episodes will be a memory I’ll never forget in my lifetime."
