Saints angry with the dialogues of 'Adipurush' movie

Prayagraj: General Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, the biggest organisation of sages and saints, Mahant Rajendra Das on Monday said that there is discontent among the sages and saints of Prayagraj due to wrong portrayal of Hindu Gods and Goddesses in the movie 'Adipurush'.

Mahant Rajendra Das, who is also the president of Nirmohi Ani Akhara, said that Hindu deities Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman have been wrongly portrayed by linking them to the dialogues of this film. "Insult to Hindu deities will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If this trend of presenting Gods and Goddesses in the society through wrong dialogues through films is not stopped, then we will be forced to come on the streets," he said.

He said that the government should ban such types of films which are prone to religious frenzy in the society. He said that he is not averse to making films but it would be better if these films are inspirational for society.

Mahant Das said that derogatory words and language have been used in the movie, which is an insult to Sanatan Dharma and culture. He said that a committee should be formed with some representatives of the government and some saints, including the Akhada Parishad, in which should decide whether the film is fit to be screened or not.

He said that apart from this, the government should pass a decision that films, which show disrespect towards the deities or others related to any religion should not be produced.

The general secretary of Akhara Parishad questioned why Hindu Gods and Goddesses were filmed in such a controversial manner. "Sometimes it's Lord Ram, Hanuman, Lord Shiva, Goddesses Kali Maa, Durga and Lord Krishna. Is this a thought out disgusting trick to spoil our culture? This is a conspiracy against Sanatan Dharma. There is an attack on our beliefs. Such messing with the character of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram and Hanuman will not be allowed." he said.

While referring to the popular TV serial Ramayana by Ramanand Sagar, he said that there was no insult to any deity in it. "In fact, Ramanand Sagar did not violate dignity for any character to avoid any kind of controversy. The characters should be displayed like the standard characters of Ram Charit Manas, so that our good values are spread in the society and consciousness is awakened among the people," he said.

He said, "There is a violation of the character of Gods and Goddesses for cheap popularity and income. The central government should stop this by taking quick action."

Prayag Dharma Sangh president Rajendra Paliwal accused the producer-director of Adipurush of disrespecting Hindu deities by making a film on them. He said that by making this type of film, in the form of a joke, through visuals and dialogues, they have played with faith and trust in the public.

Paliwal said that it is necessary for the people involved in anti-Sanatan Dharma activities to think that films with such meaningless dialogues should be stopped even before releasing in theatres. (UNI)
