In ‘Besharam Rang’, Deepika is celebrating herself : Shilpa Rao

New Delhi: Yash Raj Film’s (YRF) latest release ‘Pathaan’, has created history at the box office registering unprecedented numbers.

While the film has been making and breaking records each day, Pathaan’s much celebrated party anthem ‘Besharam Rang’ has made a mark on the global map and has become a massive chartbuster. The song features Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, have set the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry.

The track is crooned by Shilpa Rao, who has some chart busters to her credit.

On her collaboration with Deepika, Shilpa said in a video released by YRF on Saturday, “When you talk about Deepika, I smile because that's what she does to me. I think she is one of the most beautiful human beings I've worked with in my life. Whenever I've met her there has been so much warmth. I mean the way she is, the eye contact she makes, you know it's like as if she's not talking to anybody else there, as if nobody else is in the room and that is what I love about her.”

“We started off with Khuda Jaane which was a song where both of them (lead actors) were falling in love and we've also done Lafangey Parindey which is a very different song. In Besharam Rang she is celebrating herself and I love that. We do half-half jobs - I do it in the studio expressing the song at an audio level and she expresses it on a video level,” she said.

Interestingly, Shilpa has worked with Vishal-Sheykhar and Siddharth Anand often, the last one being, the iconic chart buster Ghungroo.

“Siddharth, Vishal-Sheykhar and I - its been four of us in a room since 2007 when we started with Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno and it was again produced by Yash Raj Films and it's always been like that and I don't know we just have a lot of fun in the room. We don't even discuss the song,” she shared.

“The only question I asked Siddharth what is the character wanting to say here and that's the only one question I asked him and as a ritual Siddharth always teaches me the song before Vishal-Sheykhar. I think that ritual is our lucky charm and we start with that and we have lots of coffee, lots of food and lots of bad jokes. Yeah that's the concoction for a hit for us,” she added.

Accused in firing outside Salman Khan's house case wants to turn approver

Mumbai: A person facing MCOCA charges in connection with the firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence in Bandra suburbs here has expressed his desire to turn approver in the case, sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch said. Without disclosing the identity of the accused, the sources said that one of those arrested in the April 14 shooting case and facing charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has express his desire to be an approver and necessary procedure prescribed under the law has been set into motion.
