New Delhi: Dark, gritty, and ominous – the trailer of the upcoming Netflix series, Randeep Hooda starrer ‘CAT’ has already raised anticipation among viewers for its release on December 9.
What weaves the intense plot and gripping visuals of the show seamlessly together is the music, which the streaming platform has released in association with Sony Music.
The ‘CAT’ soundtrack comprises eight thrilling songs – Asi Bande Punjabi Haan, Tutde Star, Sidhe Saadhe Jatt Nu, Goli Chaldi, Oh Aaja Channa Sohneya, Jatt Vekh Lugaa, Saari Raat Sajdi Rahi, and Saal Atharvaan. With a lot of stellar talent working in tandem on the music, the result is all the songs portraying the elements of love, vengeance, brotherhood, and the moral dilemmas Gurnam Singh faces to perfection.
All the songs in the album are composed by V Rakx. Bringing these songs to life are the voices of Swarjit Singh, Jaz Dhami, Sanj V, and Lovleen Kaur. The OST covers a plethora of genres and emotions that will make you clench your nails and put you right on the edge of your seats.
Regarding his role as Gurnam Singh in ‘CAT’, and its music album, Randeep said, “The character of Gurnam Singh is very close to my heart because of how complex and layered he is. You could love or hate him, and you wouldn’t be wrong to do either! Along with this, it’s CAT’s soundtrack that appeals to me a lot. V Rakx and the others really did a stunning job all around, especially with Tutde Star.”
Hasleen Kaur added, “It has been an enriching experience to work with someone as accomplished as Randeep Hooda. I have learned so much from him and the entire cast. While CAT is intense and action-packed, it brings out an authentic Punjabi setting be it the dialogues, the locations and even the soundtrack... which I really hope makes it into everyone’s playlist soon!”
Award-winning composer Rakesh Varma of V Rakx Music said, “My past associations with Sony Music have always been rewarding, and there was no reason why it should be any different this time around. Yes, composing the music for CAT wasn’t the easiest thing to do, considering the myriad of emotions and themes the show has. But the creator & director of the show, Balwinder Singh Janjua had a clear vision and it helped me in the compositions.”
“Working with Swarjit Singh, Jaz Dhami, Ca Rudra and Toofan Singh along with the others made the entire project a whole lot of fun. I have high hopes for both the music album and the series. Hope everyone enjoys them,” he added.(UNI)
