The 3rd Edition of Vadilal International Gujarati Film festival (IGFF) will be held between May 20th to 22nd, 2022 at ATLANTA, GA, USA, the cinematic cultural festival is also supported by Gujarat Tourism. After the gap of two years due to Worldwide corona pandemic, IGFF is all set to host the three-day film festival which is armed with a singular goal of promoting Gujarati cinema on a scale that was never seen or heard of before on international level.
IGFF aspire to elevate Gujarati Cinema from local to global level. It was the first event of its kind to bring professional and amateur filmmakers together to celebrate the evolving world of Gujarati Cinema.
From reminiscing the rural life to melodramatic modern youth. From fun of our everyday relationships to fierce valor of our martyrs. We have treaded to showcase the culture and art of Gujarat to the world. With the filmmakers and regional cinema exposed as the main protagonists, the IGFF is the first regional film festival of India to take place outside of India.
IGFF was previously held in the year 2018 at New Jersey and in the year 2019 at Los Angeles and New Jersey. The festival was attended by more than 5000 attendees in both the year and got over whelming response from the audience.
Film Festival Will be attended by Who’s who of Atlanta, Dignitaries &Gujarati community, and Gujarati Film fertility from Gujarat along with the Festival Director Umesh Shukla, Jury Member Faroukh Mistry, Gopi Desai, Jay Vasavada and Saumya Joshi. As surprise Gujarati Film Actors all the way from India to Atlanta GA are going to make their presence at these mega three days festival.
"Film industry in Georgia is the largest in the United States. Atlanta is the center of the film industry with all the studios located along with the multicultural Indian community also Gujaratis being the most in numbers as community made our decision very strong to host the festival at this most beautiful city. This year Venue for the event is Venture Cinema. The festival will open on 20th May, with the Opening red-carpet Ceremony, the most talked about Gujarati film by Pan Nalin ‘The Last Film Show’ will be the opening film of the festival. closing ceremony along with the award night. We hope a greater number of Gujarati community members to attend the festival he mentioned.” IGFF has one goal, to show that a Gujarati Cinema has the potential of creating scripts and movies which can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other movie industry.
Final selection of the selected films will be screened during 21st and 22nd May. The schedule and listing of the films will be declared in April end for an audience to choose the best film they want to see. The Festival Director and Indian film Director Umesh Shukla will also be present along with the festival jury, Gopi Desai, Saumya Joshi and Jay Vasavada.
