After Aryan trouble mounts for Shahrukh, NCB searches "Mannat"


Mumbai: Different teams of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) comprising dozens of officials on Thursday afternoon conducted searches at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Bandra residence ‘Mannat’ as well as at actress Ananya Pandey's Khar residence.

Sources in the department confirmed it and said that multiple NCB teams carried out the searches in Andheri area of Mumbai, acting on a lead from one of the accused in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case.

Ananya, is the daughter of actor Chunky Pandey, and is a close friend of Shah Rukh's daughter Suhana.Sources said fresh evidence have been collected.

The move came on the day Shah Rukh met his son Aryan, who has been in custody since October 3. The superstar visited the Arthur Road Jail earlier just hours ahead of the 23-year-old's bail plea hearing at the Bombay High Court.

Aryan Khan is among several others, who have been arrested in the case. On Wednesday, a Mumbai special court rejected his bail application and those of two others. Aryan was detained along with seven others during an NCB raid on the Cordelia cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.

The Bombay High Court on Thursday fixed the next hearing of Aryan's bail plea on October 26. Further details are awaited.(UNI)

Accused in firing outside Salman Khan's house case wants to turn approver

Mumbai: A person facing MCOCA charges in connection with the firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence in Bandra suburbs here has expressed his desire to turn approver in the case, sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch said.   Without disclosing the identity of the accused, the sources said that one of those arrested in the April 14 shooting case and facing charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has express his desire to be an approver and necessary procedure prescribed under the law has been set into motion.   As per procedure, the probe agency will first record the accused's confession before a high ranking officer not part of the ongoing investigation, and later the same will be recorded before a magistrate, the sources added.   The confessional statement will be the part of evidence and it will be used against him as well as other accused facing charges, they said.   On Monday, three accused arrested in the case were sent
